The Kerr family came to me wanting to fully re-do their backyard deck. Their deck is pretty large which gave us room for a pretty spacious dining space, cocktail area, large lounging spot and a fire pit! I recently did another Backyard Bistro Spruce Kit that’s also super cute but this one’s a bit different because it’s more traditional than my usual - I love the challenge!
After meeting at the clients home and taking a house tour, I was able to get a good idea of their style. They were drawn to cool colors but also liked the calming nature of neutrals + textures. I wanted to give their space an update all while keeping these separate areas cohesive and vibe’ing with one another. Take a peek at the before photos!👇🏼

With the Kerr’s Spruce I really wanted to stay away from box sets of outdoor furniture. Not everything has to be match-matchy to work together. I tied in the black and natural (jute, wicker & wood) pieces throughout the space so they feel connected without being drab and all. the. damn. same. A few of my favorite shops for outdoor furniture are Target, CB2 & Serena & Lily. They all have a little something for everyone. Heart Eyes.
