SUES PLAYROOM SPRUCE

SUES PLAYROOM SPRUCE

Get ready for a whole lot of cuteness with this behind the scenes reveal of a playroom spruce for a growing Austin-based family! The Sues family dreamed of this room becoming a family gathering place to spend quality time together with their children. It previously functioned as a reading room for mom, Kaileen. But, the original design grew outdated as the Sues began transitioning their life to a family of four.

SMALL BIZ LOVE

SMALL BIZ LOVE

I couldn't have gotten to where I am today without the support of the local community. So I always try to make a conscious effort to show my support to other small businesses! I love browsing local shops because, in a way, I feel like I get a glimpse into the owner's mind—who they are, their style, their passions. So, I thought I'd take a quick moment to pay it forward a little on this edition of Links I Love. This post features great products I've discovered recently from a few of my favorite small businesses!

PATTERN PLAY | HAPPY HYGGE

PATTERN PLAY | HAPPY HYGGE

The art of hygge is largely about learning to live more intentionally—all in an effort to bring more warmth and happiness to our emotional well-being. So I thought: why not bring a little bit of hygge and happiness to the things we spend so much time staring at day-in and day-out? Our screens!I partnered up with The Paper + Craft Pantry to style a series of digital wallpapers full of cozy textures, happy patterns and all things hygge as a special surprise gift just for you!

THE MARTELL SPRUCE

THE MARTELL SPRUCE

Right before the holidays I finished an exciting Spruce Kit for a sweet client, and thought it would be fun to share the design with y'all! I'm calling this living and dining room transformation the "Eclectic Marfa Retreat," based on the bold mix of colors and natural finishes! One of the first things my client mentioned to me when we sat down to chat was how much she loved color. She was also inspired to incorporate collections from her travels and to create an overall cozy feeling to her open-plan living space.

1 STYLE 3 BUDGETS | MID CENTURY LIVING

1 STYLE 3 BUDGETS | MID CENTURY LIVING

Some say that the living room is the heart of your a home. The warmth, mix of styles and natural elements in this space make it feel instantly comfortable and homey. But if I had to guess, the cost for this design probably came in around $20k. That's likely more than the entire renovation budget for some homeowners... So, I wanted to recreate this design at three different price points to show that you don't always need a lot of money to style the perfect living space!

WOODEN BEAD MOBILE

WOODEN BEAD MOBILE

One of my favorite design trends right now is raw wood. I think it adds so much warmth to a space, and my home office had been feeling a little bare. So, after seeing a few of my favorite bloggers, Emily Henderson and Studio McGee, featuring unique ways they've incorporated wooden bead garlands into a space, I thought to myself "I could make that!" Check out what I came up with...

CRAFTY + MODERN PEGBOARDS

CRAFTY + MODERN PEGBOARDS

The raw wood trend has been all the rage, and has recently inspired an ultra-modern twist on pegboards. In the past couple months I’ve helped two of my clients, Natalie and Pei, create pegboard-inspired feature walls in their home offices as a part of their Spruce Kit pacakges, and couldn’t be happier with how well these capture both of these girls' personalities. Check them out!

#RENOVATEDING BEFORE + AFTER

#RENOVATEDING BEFORE + AFTER

Last Saturday was a pretty momentous occasion for me, one I’ve been tirelessly planning for the past 9 months!  Project #RenovateDING is (nearly) complete, and am officially all moved in—well, despite my storage unit looking like a hoarder’s paradise…haha! Although I still have a lot of unpacking and decorating to do to make it FEEL like home, it’s already a dream to be living in this house!
